Destination overview
The latest of a trio of new destinations on the NSW South Coast, the first stage of the Mogo Trails network, is now open. Currently, there are about 70km of singletrack ready for riders, with a total of 130km planned in total — including a point-to-point adventure trail that will start at the top of Mt Wandera and finish on the beach!
The first start-to-finish destination project of Rocky Trail Destination, with Next Level Mountain Bike running the machines and building trails, the first stage of the network is best described as quirky with a side of tech flow. Next Level has shaped some amazing moon booters and sharkfins that are well designed and safe, and also some lovely janky tech trails too.

Accessing Mogo Trails
There are three trailheads: The Botanic Gardens, Mogo Township to the west and the Curtis Trailhead to the east. That last one doesn’t have official parking and has been designed for the folks who are riding in from their beach accommodation from the Batehave side.
Mogo itself is a quirky little village on the old coast road, think a second-hand book store in a timber stilted house, a plant store that feels like stepping into a secret garden, and a 1950s-style ice cream shop. But of course, with its proximity to Batemans Bay and the coast, a trip to Mogo can also mean a beach getaway, so don’t forget your surfboard and your togs.
Getting to Mogo
Only two hours from Canberra, Mogo is well within the day trip range for folks from the ACT. However, at 3.5 hours from Sydney, if you’re driving in from The Harbour City, a night away will be the ticket — fortunately, the tourism industry is already well established and thriving in the area, and there are beds and services plenty.
